Eligibility:
1. The student admitted to the Degree Chemical Engineering (B.Tech.) program must have passed GHSEB/CSBE/Equivalent (12th standard) Examination at first trial with minimum of 60% marks (aggregate).
2. The average annual family gross income (parents’ income) of the student must be less than Rs.
2,50,000 (average based on previous three (3) years from all sources).
3. The student should not be (or should not have been) involved in any anti social/criminal activities.
4. The student are required to disclose the details of any other scholarship/s or financial aid he/she is currently receiving for the Program (or receives in future). The Committee will take this information into consideration and select the Recipient/s accordingly.
Certificates and documents to be submitted with the application form:
1. The income certificates/income tax return files/Telephone bills/Electricity bills/expenses on education for siblings/any other documents as desired by the Committee for the previous three year/s as part of proof for family gross income.
2. Self certified photo copy of GHSEB/CSBE/Equivalent Board Examination results, School leaving certificate and 1st trial certificate.
3. Self certified photo copy of previous years results along with all documents listed under above paragraph #1 must be submitted with the application for each subsequent year of Program.
4. Applicant must also write an essay describing his/her achievements and how he/she handled special circumstances in his/her everyday life and submit it along with the application to enhance his/her chances of being selected by the Committee.

The DDU Alumni Association, formerly, DDIT Alumni Association (DDITAA) was established in August, 1993, with its headquarter at the DDU and chapters at Ahmedabad, Ankleshwar and Vadodara. It has membership strength of about 4310. The association is proud of its members, as most of them have excelled in their respective fields. Many of them have won coveted awards. More than 1000 members are settled abroad. The association has been promoting interaction among industries, ex-students and the university to enhance the cause of technical education. DDUAA has organized and conducted more than 125 seminars, lectures and workshops at various places like Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Ankleshwar and Nadiad.
The main objectives of the association are :
- To establish and maintain contact among past students, present students and the teaching staff of DDU.
- To raise and maintain high standards of education by interaction & commerce.
- To establish interaction with industry for the benefit of students.
- To extend financial assistance to the deserving present and past students of the University for academic purposes.
The Current activities of the association include :
Organising Seminars / Workshops Addressing Current Issues such as :
- Preparing Managers for the new millennium.
- Personality Development by Swami Adhyatamanandji of Shri Shivanand Ashram, Rishikesh.
- Career opportunities and prospects for engineering Graduates in Indian Air Forces.
- Providing travel assistance to students for participating in academic activities anywhere in India.
- Providing financial support in the form of Merit cum Means Scholarships.
- Awarding prizes to rank holding students.
- Assisting in arranging campus interviews, placements and industrial training.
- Maintaining a database of ex-students.
DDU Alumni Association was established in the year 1993 under the strong and dynamic leadership of Dr.H.M.Desai as the President, with some broad and concrete objectives. These are the objectives which advocate clearly the neat and clean intentions behind the creation of DDUAA. Over the years the Association has made good progress at several fronts under the stewardship of Dr.H.M.Desai, our president.
DDU Alumni Association is an active organization engaged in promoting excellence in education through various schemes like :
- Awarding scholarship
- Giving incentives for the participation in academic activities at State and National level
- Assisting in training and placement
It has organized several seminars / workshops / programmes for its members, industry and society at large. Some of them are :
- Seminar on “Total Quality Management” organized jointly with Institution of Engineers(I), Gujarat State Centre, at DDU, Nadiad. May 6, 1995.
- Seminar on “Total Quality Management” organized jointly with Institution of Engineers(I), Gujarat State Centre, at DDU, Nadiad. May 6, 1995.
- Package programme on “Chemical Engineering for non-chemical engineering” sponsored by Ankleshwar Industries Association at Ankleshwar, July 12-14, 1996.
- Seminar on “Environmental issues of Chemical process Industry” organized jointly with Institution of Engineers(I), Gujarat State Centre, at DDU Nadiad. June 7, 1997.
- Workshop on “Environmental Audit” at Express Hotel Vadodara, October 20, 1997.
- Lectures on “Selected Topics In Management Practice” organized jointly with centre for management studies DDU, Nadiad. January 2, 1999.
- A lecture on Energy Audit was delivered by Shri Vipul Shah consultant alumni of DDU.
- A lecture on catalysis and develop of catalyst was delivered by Dr.Anand Halgeri, Sr.Manager (R & D) IPCL-Baroda.
These activities helped the association to project its image in the industrial world. Apart from this, the association is also engaged actively in students’ benefit and cultural activities too. a team of students and faculty from University of IOWA, USA with which DDU have a MOU for academic co-operation in several areas. The association hosted a dinner in honors of the visiting team in Hotel Angethi. Every time new year gathering was organized for local members on 26th January, after the Flag hosting ceremony. After having very good experience from the trip to Kevadia Colony the LAC organized another trip to Divadia Colony, the site of Kadana Dem with family.
Merit-cum-Means Scholarships :
As a part of programmes to achieve the objectives, DDUAA is giving merit cum means scholarships to the deserving students. It is decided to establish “DDU Alumni Association Scholarship Fund” so as to make the scheme self sustaining through donation from individuals and organizations. We are happy to announce that ex-students of DDU, number of individuals and organizations have extended tremendous positive response for the generous donation to award “Merit Cum Means Scholarship” to deserving students and we expect many more to follow the same. So, we are taking this opportunity to place our kind request in front of individuals and organizations to come forward and support the noble cause of “Vidya Dan”. Your support to the deserving students will help them in changing their life and thus you will be contributing in giving them a bright future. We hope you will support this worthy cause and send us your DD/Cheque at the earliest. Travel grant to the students :
Travel assistance to the students for participating in any academic activity any where in India is given by the association to encourage and motivate the students. A large numbers of students are taking advantage of this scheme and a total sum of Rs. 25,000/- has been spent for such student activities.
Training & Placement :
This is vital issue where the assistance from the members of DDUAA is very much solicited. We are happy to inform that for the industrial training a great deal of help is received from Alumni members.sociation also assists the University for the campus recruitment.
At this stage we must thank our President; Dr.H.M.Desai, who has continuously encouraged us and guided us in all our activities. Under his excellent leadership association has got substantial financial strength too. Management of the University has provided the basics and essential infrastructural facilities.
