About Us

The Department of Electronics & Communication was established in the year 1981. At present the Department is offering Undergraduate program in Electronics and Communication engineering as well as Postgraduate Program with specialization in Electronics and Communication Systems. The department consists of 35 faculty members with specialization in major areas of Electronics and Communication. The department has been accredited by NBA.

The Department offers education in various subjects dealing with latest technologies like VLSI & ASIC Designs, Wireless Communication & Networks, Mobile Communication, Digital Signal Processing, Embedded Systems etc., which are supported by ten well-equipped laboratories including three computer laboratories.

Industrial Practical Training to VIII Semester Students is imparted in collaboration with Companies like Hutch, TCS, PCS, IPR, ISRO, Tata Teleservices, Nokia, e-Infochips, Reliance Infocomm, etc.

Infrastructure and Facilities

The infrastructure facilities, including latest laboratory equipments, Communication kits and modules, Fiber optic kits, Satellite trainer kits, Spectrum analyzer, VLSI kits and Microwave Bench, enabled the department to be a front-runner amongst Institutes offering courses in Electronics and Communication area.

The Software and supporting hardware kits for the subjects like Embedded System designs with ARM 9 processor, Data & Computer Communication with Wireless LAN equipments and LAN Trainers make the department with state-of-art facilities for projects implementation.

Research Activities

The department is engaged in research activities in the fields of Wireless Communication, Digital Signal Processing and Image Processing. The activities are carried out with the help of real test beds set up in the department laboratories in addition to simulations.
