Established in the year of 1968 as Dharmsinh Desai Institute of Technology (DDIT) is now a State University under the name of Dharmsinh Desai University with effect from 12th April 2005 vide the Dharmsinh Desai Act, 2005 through a notification no. GH/SH/3/APB-2003-1610-S dated 11 April 2005 published by the Department of Education, Government of Gujarat.
